Today we are wrapping up our tour of the Historic Hingham Home that I had the pleasure of updating along with my client. Previously, I shared the finished Family Room, as well as the Media Room. The final two spaces we refreshed were the Kitchen and the back Stairwell.
A Poem & A Painting: Des Marionettes

It was a gray and rainy weekend in New England. Luckily we are in need of the rain and I was in need of some downtime for catching up on paperwork, painting, and getting ready for my Art Show at the Boston Design Center this Thursday(!).
This week’s painting was created for the October Girls Just Wanna Paint challenge of Stripes. Once again, I love how everyone interprets the theme ~ take a peek for yourself at this month’s entries here.

Here we are, the last few days of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge! In some ways the time has flown by, in other ways it seems as if this month as been endless. I’ve been busy with Interior Design projects, travel, painting (for this challenge and an upcoming exhibit!), and putting the finishing touches on the new Pamela Copeman Art website. I can’t wait to share! In the meantime, today’s painting features one of my favorite subjects ~ birds. What’s more sweet than Lovebirds…
Historic Hingham Home: Media Room Update

Welcome back to the Historic Hingham Antique Colonial home I first shared with you last week. Previously, we toured the redesigned Family Room. Today we are moving to the front of the house and the Media Room. This room is where my client and her family entertain guests and have friends over to watch sporting events and the like. Once again they required ample seating, durable, stain-resistant fabrics and above all ~ comfort.
As you can see in these ‘Before’ photos, the room had some beautiful features (lots windows and detailed moldings) but there wasn’t enough seating and the furniture that was there wasn’t really in keeping with my client’s tailored aesthetic…

Inspired by my granddaughter Daisy, I am introducing new subject matter line for my paintings. Children’s Paintings are a bit more whimsical and lighthearted while still featuring vibrant colors, sophistication, and my signature “Pamela Copeman Art” style. I recently completed the first painting in this series, a giraffe with a crown, as part of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge…
Historic Hingham Home: Family Room Update
Sep 14 2016 · 5 comments · My Designs ·2
Today I am excited to share with you a recent project I completed for a wonderful family. The home is an Antique Colonial, in the heart of historic downtown Hingham. The home was extensively renovated in 2004 so all of the amenities and framework for a functional family space were in place. However my client wanted the interior design of the home to be more polished, cohesive, and functional for their young and active family. I actually was referred to this client by Winston Flowers in downtown Hingham and it turned out to be a great match!
A Painting & A Poem: Sunflowers & Zinnias

Fall is in the air this morning and even the flowers are signaling that the days of Summer are starting to fade. Gone are June’s peonies, making room for the mums, sunflowers, and zinnias in the hues of Autumn. I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful bouquet of these flowers ~ though they may not be the bright pinks I favor earlier in the season, they do look very nice in a leopard print vase…

A Poem & A Painting: The Most Beautiful Home
Sep 06 2016 · 0 comments · 30 Paintings in 30 Days, A Poem & A Painting, My Paintings ·0
Last week I visited Victoria, British Columbia. I’d never been before and I was enchanted with the beauty and charm of the area! Throughout this Summer I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel, visit some amazing places, and stay in some beautiful homes (like the one in this week’s painting!). I am ever grateful to have made so many wonderful memories. By the same token, I am so happy to be home. It’s true what they say ~ there’s no place like home!
A Poem & A Painting: Side By Side

It’s hard to believe that Labor Day is just a week away! While the Summer days may be waning, paintings inspired by Summer last forever 🙂 . This week’s painting was inspired by a trip to Maine and actually originally appeared in a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge I did back in September of 2014…
Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Office
Aug 26 2016 · 0 comments · My Designs ·0
While the Cape Cod Golf Course condo I designed with my fabulous client is primarily a weekend retreat, we all know that in this day and age, work tends to follow us everywhere. Thus it was important to have an Office space in the condo ~ but just because a space is utilitarian doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful and reflect personal taste and design aesthetic.
The Office is on the main floor of the condo, separated from the open concept Kitchen, Family Room, and Dining Room spaces by French doors.
A Poem & A Painting: Faces Sketches

After a heavenly week at the beach with my family, it’s back to reality. We had such a wonderful time and I’m missing them all so much, especially Miss Daisy. As I mentioned before, I am thinking about participating in Leslie Saeta‘s 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge. Daily painting not only helps me develop my painting skills, but also serves as a distraction until I see the faces of my girls again 🙂 . Speaking of faces, that’s the theme I am leaning towards for the September challenge. While on vacation, I did a few sketches of Faces…
A Poem & A Painting: Inspired by Dolce & Gabbana
Aug 15 2016 · 0 comments · A Poem & A Painting, My Paintings ·0
I have “beach on the brain” this week because Family Vacation is finally here! For me the beach is all about relaxing, sunshine, special memories, family, sunsets, and (for the artist & designer in me) bright colors. From beach umbrellas to bathing suits, bright colors and jazzy patterns are all over the beach ~ and I love it! This week’s watercolor sketch was inspired by iconic Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana…

I’d like to invite you to pull up a seat, nosh on a gummy lobster (or two) and take a peek at the Family Room of the Cape Cod Golf Course Condo project. In case you missed the other spaces I’ve shared so far, you can tour the Dining Room and the Bedrooms to catch up. Now, onto the Family Room!
A Poem & A Painting: Rose Flower Crown

I enjoyed a delightful string of days vacationing on Nantucket last week. There’s nothing like spending quality time with dear friends you’ve had for years! Since I returned I’ve made time to be in my studio, painting. I do so enjoy the process and the challenge. In fact, I’m thinking about participating in another Leslie Saeta 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge starting on September 1st. I’ve completed several of Leslie’s “30 in 30” painting challenges, including one in January of this year. If I do decide to sign up, I always like to pick a theme for my 30 paintings. Past themes have included Interiors and Colors. I am considering “Faces” for the September challenge. And on that note, this week’s painting & poem (or quote as the case may be…)
A Poem & A Painting: A Daisy Crown for Daisy
Aug 01 2016 · 0 comments · A Poem & A Painting ·0
This week’s painting is a special one ~ perhaps you can tell from the title. The latest challenge for Girls Just Wanna Paint was Daisies. It was so sweet of these artist to pick something near and dear to my heart. I am so thankful for their prayers, love and support! I chose to do a Daisy crown. When I was a girl, my Mom made made me a crown out of Lily of the Valley for my birthday. When I wore it I felt regal. I carried on this tradition by making dandelion crowns for my Em (we had an abundance of them in our grass..). Now I am blessed to be able to make Daisy crowns for
my granddaughter Daisy.

I’m excited to share another space in the Cape Cod Golf Course Condo that I collaborated on the interior design of with the sweetest, most wonderful client. Today I have a tour of the Dining Room which underwent quite a dramatic transformation.
Here’s where we started (sorry for the blurry picture but the worse the ‘before’ picture the better, right??):
A Poem & A Painting: Red Roses in Emily’s Kitchen
Jul 25 2016 · 0 comments · A Poem & A Painting, My Paintings ·0
My daughter Emily has a lovely vintage inspired mason jar set in her kitchen. While I was visiting the mason jar vases were filled with single red rose stems. I stole a few moments to paint them in my sketchbook. I love how they turned out. I’ve never met a room that wasn’t made lovelier with the addition of fresh flowers…
A Poem & A Painting: Inspired by Southern Home Magazine & Rivers Spencer
Jul 18 2016 · 0 comments · A Poem & A Painting ·0
I am back after a heavenly week in Philadelphia with Daisy, Emily, and Nick. I am thrilled to say that Daisy is making great strides and what a privilege it was to witness her progress in person!
In between snuggling, feeding, walking, and kissing Daisy, I did manage to do a bit of painting. As I have mentioned before, it is near impossible to travel with oil paints. I find that my watercolor palette is perfect for travel and my watercolor “sketches” are a great base to work from later. This week’s painting was inspired by a Southern Home magazine cover featuring a living room designed by Rivers Spencer. While Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, I certainly left mine in Philadelphia…
