After months of planning, this weekend it was finally time for Emily’s Bridal Shower! On Sunday, the bridesmaids, the Brother of Honor and I hosted the festive gathering. I am so excited to share the details of this lovely occasion!

Throughout the planning process, I have been so creatively energized with custom ideas to make the day extra special. I was thrilled to see these ideas come to life for the shower.

It all started with the invitation. I feel the invitation really sets the stage for the event. For Emily’s shower invitation I hand painted the design with watercolors and then added one of my favorite quotes.

Venturing to Philly last week and attending the Philadelphia Flower Show served to treat me to a tantalizing preview of Spring with all its luscious color and beautiful blooms. Now that I’m home the only color I seem to see when I look out the window is white ~ still. Winter can’t hold on forever though, even in New England. It might even hit 60 degrees today ~ wahoo! Rustic Alaskan Wilderness Meets Glam 50th Birthday Party

That title is a mouthful, isn’t it! Just wait until you see the party ~ pardon my phone pics, but trust me, it was gorgeous.

Over the holidays we attended a very special {BIG} Birthday Party. The Birthday Girl’s husband and her best friends surprised her with one of the most charming parties I have ever attended.

Designs for Top Knobs Challenge

One of my favorite parts of any Interior Design is the details ~ the small touches that add panache and personality to a space. And one of my favorite details is the hardware for cabinetry and furniture. The knobs, pulls, and other hardware are truly jewelry for the room!

You can imagine how thrilled I was to hear that not only was Top Knobs, purveyor of fine hardware for kitchens, baths and beyond, a sponsor of Modenus’ BlogTour Vegas, but they are also currently running a cabinet hardware design contest, the Top Knobs Challenge. Count me in!

Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Windows 2014

The Holiday Windows in New York City are one of my favorite traditions. Whether I view them online or am fortunate enough to see them in person, I am always in awe of the creativity, hard work, and planning that goes into bringing each window to life. The windows at Bergdorf Goodman are among my perennial favorites. This year Bergdorf’s has dedicated a window to each of a sampling of the Arts ~ Film, Literature, Painting, Theater and Dance among them.
