A Painting & A Poem: Autumn Apples
Oct 31 2016 ·0Is there anything more quintessentially Fall than apples? Ok, perhaps pumpkins or colorful leaves but especially here in New England, nothing says Fall like biting into a crisp, delicious apple that has been freshly picked from a local orchard. This week’s painting captures a bounty of Autumn’s tastiest harvest ~ accented by some of my favorite, not traditionally “Fall”-like, colors…
A Poem & A Painting: Sandy’s Flowers
Oct 24 2016 ·1It is well documented that Summer is my favorite season ~ I live at the beach after all 🙂 . However, I must give the Autumn it’s due. The colors of Nature are so vibrant and brilliant, it’s like a love note to my hue loving heart…
The Envoy Hotel: A Boston Waterfront Luxury Hotel Experience
Oct 21 2016 ·0During the whirlwind that was the Boston Design Market and the opening of my art exhibit at the FDO Group showroom, I opted to simply things a bit and I booked myself a hotel room for two nights at the Envoy Hotel in the Seaport District of Boston. What a treat it was! Not only is this boutique property (part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott) luxurious and well-located, it is a treat for Interior Designers and design lovers alike. Come and take a peek with me…
A Poem & A Painting: Madame de Paris
Oct 17 2016 ·0After a whirlwind couple of weeks, I was so happy to have some quiet time in my studio this weekend! I did a bit of experimenting with an Impressionist/John Singer Sargent painting style. I enjoy pushing myself when it comes to my artwork and it’s even better when I am pleased with the results. I imagine the woman in this portrait to be a well-to-do Parisian in the late 19th century. I hope I’ve done her justice…
A Poem & A Painting: Speckled Brown Hen
Oct 10 2016 ·0We had some much needed rain this weekend and it made for some wonderful time in my art studio. It was an enjoyable break from the nonstop pace of the Boston Design Market last week at the Boston Design Center. Once again, I attended several informative seminars and met a host of wonderful people. I’m sure I’ll have more to share on that soon!
I also thoroughly enjoyed the opening of my Art Exhibit at the newly renovated FDO Group showroom ~ it is stunning! Thank you to those who were able to make it to the reception and thank you to everyone at FDO, your support is so appreciated! My artwork will be on display throughout October (Suite 313) so if you didn’t make it to the opening, you can still see the show. The Boston Design Center is open to the public and a great spot to gather inspiration (and a bite to eat).
This week’s painting and poem have a bit of a whimsical feel ~ I hope you get a kick out of it!
Historic Hingham Home: Kitchen & Stairwell Update
Oct 07 2016 ·0Today we are wrapping up our tour of the Historic Hingham Home that I had the pleasure of updating along with my client. Previously, I shared the finished Family Room, as well as the Media Room. The final two spaces we refreshed were the Kitchen and the back Stairwell.
A Poem & A Painting: Des Marionettes
Oct 03 2016 ·0It was a gray and rainy weekend in New England. Luckily we are in need of the rain and I was in need of some downtime for catching up on paperwork, painting, and getting ready for my Art Show at the Boston Design Center this Thursday(!).
This week’s painting was created for the October Girls Just Wanna Paint challenge of Stripes. Once again, I love how everyone interprets the theme ~ take a peek for yourself at this month’s entries here.
