A Poem & A Painting: A Watercolor Interior
Jun 29 2015 ·0I’m popping in to share my latest work from my watercolor class. As you probably know, I love painting Interiors in oil. Inspired by designer and artist Mark Hampton and his book of watercolors, Mark Hampton, The Art of Friendship, I am now attempting to paint Interior scenes using watercolors as well.
A Poem & A Painting: Watercolor Nest
Jun 22 2015 ·0The Summer is already a wonderful whirlwind with amazing sunsets, parties on the terrace, beach walks and fabulous clients. All of this activity added to the fact that my assistant is in the midst of moving, means the blog updates have been fewer. We do have some great posts planned including Wedding details and a colorful photo shoot at a client’s home. In the meantime, please follow me on Instagram for “up-to-the-minute” updates!
Today I do have a painting to share. I am taking a watercolor class so I will be able to paint when I travel. It is difficult because with some colors once they are on paper they are permanent ~ eek not great for a girl that makes mistakes and is used to the forgiveness of oil paint!

Jun 15 2015 ·0I’m trying something a bit different with this week’s painting. I’ve incorporated mixed media in my latest nest…
Caught My Eye: DXV Design Panel
Jun 12 2015 ·0A number of my designer friends that I met through Modenus and BlogTour were selected to be on the 2015 DXV Design Panel. DXV is the luxury bath brand by American Standard. From DXV: “A few months ago, we asked seven notable designers to share their vision, passion and talent and help us create five design settings, each inspired by classical pieces of literature. We invite you to join us as we explore these five works and hear the reimagined stories of Anna Karenina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, A Room with a View, Water for Elephants and Like Water for Chocolate”. These amazing spaces are a few of the things that Caught My Eye this week!…
Guest Post: Glorious Graduation Party
Jun 10 2015 ·0Today I have a special treat for you ~ a guest post written by my friend and Assistant Extraordinaire, Jen Bowles. Jen recently designed and hosted one of the most creative and colorful graduation parties I’ve ever attended. Her daughter, Ebby, obviously deserved a wonderful party ~ she was Salutatorian of her class and gave an amazing speech at the graduation ceremony. I just love how Jen took a unique and personal theme and built the party around it. Come take a peek…
I guess you could say I enjoy planning parties ;-). For Ebby’s graduation party I knew I didn’t want a typical theme ~ no high school colors (green & white), no paper goods with bright primary colors. Not that there’s anything wrong with those things, I just strive to be more unique and personal when I design a party. So I looked to Ebby for inspiration. Her middle name is Blossom, she loves books, reading, and her job at the library–boom, theme!
A Poem & A Painting: Pink Sunset
Jun 08 2015 ·0This weekend I opened my Summer Deck and I am so looking forward to a Summer of sunsets with friends. Each evening Mother Nature puts on an amazing show and I feel blessed to have a front row seat!
This week’s poem is entitled Sea Sunset ~ two of my favorite things…
Caught My Eye, Vol. 55
Jun 05 2015 ·0I thought that I might have a chance to catch my breath after Em & Nick’s wedding, but apparently that isn’t the case! Life is still going a mile a minute but with all good things ~ wonderful clients and projects, parties, and of course the beginning of Summer which means plenty of beach and terrace time! In the meantime, here are a few of the things that Caught My Eye this week…
A Poem & A Painting: Come A Little Closer
Jun 02 2015 ·0The theme for June’s Girls Just Wanna Paint challenge was Marsh. Being on the coast, our towns are full of beautiful, marshy vistas. However this is not my usual subject matter but I did my best…
