“You may own the best gadgets, the coolest fashions, and the swiftest cars, but the next generation’s hipper iterations have already been imagined. When all else is replaced, repaired, expired, or obsolete only your paintings will remain and will say the most about who you are and what you value. “

Last week I attended the opening reception for this year’s Webster Art Project at the Webster & Co. Showroom located at the Boston Design Center. David Webster along with Marni Kaufman Katz (freelance writer/editor of Boston magazine) curated artwork by New England artists to display in the showroom. Not only do these vignettes beautifully showcase art pieces in real room settings, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these works goes to support the Massachusetts College of Art & Design Scholarship Fund. What a genius concept!
As an interior designer and artist, I believe deeply in adding art to every space. Sometimes it is difficult for clients to envision art in their home. This is the perfect presentation to expose prospective buyers to the beauty and dimension art pieces add to a home and support a great cause at the same time.
The greater Boston area is rich in artistic talent and I am a champion of supporting our local artists (and art students). Whether you like oil paintings, acrylic paintings, sculpture, mixed media, or photography, what you choose to live with can help to beautify your home and express your personality.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces on display at Webster & Co. as part of the Webster Art Project…

It was a wonderful event, a great evening full of great art, great people, and a great cause! The installation is on-going for the next several months in the Webster & Co. showroom at the Boston Design Center. I’d love to accompany you to see this display of art in “real” spaces ~feel free to contact me to set up an appointment!
On a related note, now that the Holiday Gift Giving Season is “officially” upon us, I want to encourage you to support your local artists. A work of art is such a personal, beautiful, and lasting gift. I’m planning to do some shopping myself this weekend at the 4th Floor Artists Open Studios in Rockland. Happy {Art} Shopping!

Pamela
