A Poem & A Painting: First Snow
Dec 12 2016 ·0We woke up to our first snow of the season here south of Boston ~ sort of. It snowed late last night but by this morning it had changed to rain and we had our first slush of the season 😉 . I think a painting of a lamb in snow is much more picturesque than a lamb in slush, don’t you?…
A Poem & A Painting: Soup’s On
Nov 21 2016 ·0Here we are at Thanksgiving week! Things have been hectic around here lately, with client projects, business projects, and personal projects 🙂 . I’m grateful for all of it of course! I am also grateful for the chance to slow down and enjoy time with family and friends on Thanksgiving. This year has brought so many blessings and I am so grateful…
A Poem & A Painting: Still Thinking Pink
Feb 15 2016 ·0With encouragement from my instructor, I’ve been working on larger paintings of late. I love the juxtaposition of the fun colors (lime green and rose pink) with the more “serious” still life tableau. It reminds me of our New England weather of late ~ arctic cold this weekend, followed by rain and 50 degrees tomorrow with winds whipping most days. Typical!

A Poem & A Painting: Christmas Cardinal
Dec 21 2015 ·1I am continually fascinated by birds, but most especially in the winter. I became a “bird watcher” with my stepdad Marston. He always fed and tended to the feathered friends who visited our yard in the cold weather.
Damn Ice Dams
Apr 22 2015 ·0Thankfully the warmer weather is finally making its way to New England ~ however slowly! The downside to the arrival of Spring is that now many thousands of homeowners have to repair the damage that the Winter of 2015 left behind. Miss K, a longtime client of mine (17 years!) is one of these affected homeowners. We met last week at her home and I saw firsthand the heartbreaking ruin caused by this year’s record-breaking winter.
When I first met Miss K, her 6,000 square foot home was all white: trim, walls and ceilings. She admitted that she was afraid of color ~ obviously we were meant to work together! I love color and the more of it the better. Over the years we have painted, installed 25’ custom built-ins, created draperies for every room and laid beautiful carpets. I enjoyed every minute of transforming this house into a home which reflected Miss K and her family. It was perfect (well, except for the Dining Room chandelier, but that’s another story).
However, what I saw when I returned to the home last week was not perfect, it was devastating.
A Poem & A Painting: With A Fleece As White As Snow
Mar 02 2015 ·0Once again we woke up to Monday morning snow here. They say that Spring is 18 days away ~ it can’t come soon enough! What could be more appropriate than a poem & a painting with a snow theme…

Rustic Alaskan Wilderness Meets Glam 50th Birthday Party
Jan 14 2015 ·0That title is a mouthful, isn’t it! Just wait until you see the party ~ pardon my phone pics, but trust me, it was gorgeous.
Over the holidays we attended a very special {BIG} Birthday Party. The Birthday Girl’s husband and her best friends surprised her with one of the most charming parties I have ever attended.
The location was tricky, there were about 50 guests and music was a necessity. The party had to have a theme, of course. Allow me to review the facts about the Birthday Girl:

Dec 14 2012 ·0Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or the Winter Solstice, light in its many forms is a common thread and an integral part of the observance. December holds the shortest, and therefore darkest, days of the year and our seasonal celebrations reflect our need for the comfort of light.
Of course who says light has to be boring to be comforting? Certainly not me! Today’s Posh Picks showcase vibrant, upbeat, colorful, and stylish ways to bring light into your home.
