Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Part 1

Last week I traveled to New York with fellow Boston-area interior designer and friend, Laurie Gorelick, to preview the newly renovated Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.  It was the most spectacular makeover I could have imagined!

As you may know, the Ronald McDonald House is a haven for families,  a home-like place to stay while their child is receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital. There are many Ronald McDonald Houses all over the country including one here in Boston.

This particular Ronald McDonald House on Long Island was started in 1981 under the leadership Lyn Jurick, a powerhouse of a woman, who is still involved to this day.  She had the help of many, including her designers William Diamond and Anthony Baratta. The house has served many families over the years and was in need of some tender loving care.
