Jul 28 2016 ·0I’m excited to share another space in the Cape Cod Golf Course Condo that I collaborated on the interior design of with the sweetest, most wonderful client. Today I have a tour of the Dining Room which underwent quite a dramatic transformation.
Here’s where we started (sorry for the blurry picture but the worse the ‘before’ picture the better, right??):
30 Paintings in 30 Days, Day 25: Goldilocks Etude Chair
Jan 25 2016 ·0I just love painting furniture, hmmmm, I wonder why? This painting was inspired by Kravet’s Etude chair. Isn’t it exquisite? I’m sure Goldilocks would love to sit here…
High Point Market Fall 2015: Trends and Favorites From Afar
Oct 22 2015 ·0One of the biggest events of the Design Year took place over this past week, the Fall Market at High Point in North Carolina. What is High Point Market? It is “the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point every six months. Serious retail home furnishings buyers can be found in High Point twice a year because if you can’t find it in High Point…it probably doesn’t exist.”{source}. While I have never attended a High Point Market in person, I can assure you that a visit is on my “Design Bucket List” and is actually in the works for the next Market in April! While I was unable to attend this edition of High Point, lucky for me (and you), many of my design friends and colleagues were there and documented their finds on social media. I thought it would be fun to share some of my picks for Trends and Faves from High Point ~ even if I was 900 miles away. Come take a peek…
New Store Opening: Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams in Natick!
May 21 2015 ·0The brand new Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Home Furnishings store in Natick is breathtaking. The new building, the new Spring/ Summer pieces and the staff are all, as we’ve come to expect, outstanding. I’ve written several times in the past about my love for Mitchell Gold on my blog (here and here for example). I adore everything about them: their mission statement, the fact that their products are made here in the grand ol USA, and their reasonably priced yet cutting edge designs for all.
Come take a peek at the new Natick store…
Bunny Williams, Furnishing the Garden in Boston
May 06 2015 ·0Last week we were lucky enough to have elite designer Bunny Williams visit the Boston Design Center. During a beautiful presentation, Ms. Williams presented her new Furnishings for the Garden from Century Furniture.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Williams before and her gracious, warm, and elegant qualities are inspiring. Her manner of speaking is a bit ‘Southern’ with a slower cadence than us New Englanders ~ but when Bunny Williams speaks, we all listen.
Ms. Williams is well known for her beautiful interior designs that combine traditional style, restraint, and balance as well as a patina from one-of-a-kind antiques. She has published several books including her latest, an updated version of On Garden Style.
Best of Posh Palettes: A New Chair for Goldilocks
Jan 21 2015 ·0While I’m away for BlogTour Vegas this week, I thought you might enjoy this post from way, way back (2011!) and my first “trade” trip to Las Vegas…
Goldilocks would definitely fall asleep in this FAB chair! It’s artful curve is comfortable and the Swarovski crystal tufts are glamorous against the poppy velvet. Such a conversation piece complete with lucite legs.
30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 28
Jan 28 2014 ·0On one hand, I love the crowded furniture in this scene.
On the other hand, I am not thrilled with the figure. Thank goodness I am taking a figure painting class!
I also decided to add an abstract version of this painting. My question to you, “to abstract or not to abstract?”…
Pamela’s Posh Picks: High Point Market, Fall 2013
Nov 01 2013 ·0High Point Market in High Point, NC bills itself as The World’s Home for Home Furnishings ~ and it’s hard to argue! With over 11.5 million square feet of showroom space, High Point is huge. The High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point every six months. Serious retail home furnishings buyers can be found in High Point twice a year because if you can’t find it in High Point…it probably doesn’t exist. (via) Recently, several of my interior designer friends attended the Fall Market as StyleSpotters. StyleSpotters are “trendsetters that see ahead of the curve in home fashion trends.” What they found at High Point is amazing. This week’s Posh Picks feature some of my favorite furniture pieces from some of my favorite StyleSpotters!
Pamela’s Posh Picks: Dressing Tables
Oct 18 2013 ·0For me, Dressing Tables evoke images of Old Hollywood glamour. I can just picture a beautiful starlet sitting at her dressing table in front of a three sided mirror carefully powdering her nose. In today’s spaces, a Dressing Table is a perfect opportunity to add a hint of luxury to a Master Suite. Whether positioned in the bedroom, the bathroom or even the master closet, a contemporary dressing table offers a spot to gather oneself and prepare to face the day ~ and of course add a dash of glam!
Here are my Posh Picks for Dressing Tables…
