A Peek Into The Process of a Large Interior Design Project: South Boston Urban Nest
Jan 12 2018 ·0Late last year I began working with clients on a large scale Interior Design project at their condo in South Boston. I thought it would be fun to give you a peek behind the process of how I design and scheme for a large scale project. My process is actually very similar for any size project, depending on the scope and number of spaces we are working with there are more “moving parts” to coordinate in a larger project.
In this post I will detail the initial phases of this large Interior Design project. My intention is to post periodically as the project progresses, giving you a “behind the scenes” look at how everything comes together.
Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Office
Aug 26 2016 ·0While the Cape Cod Golf Course condo I designed with my fabulous client is primarily a weekend retreat, we all know that in this day and age, work tends to follow us everywhere. Thus it was important to have an Office space in the condo ~ but just because a space is utilitarian doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful and reflect personal taste and design aesthetic.
The Office is on the main floor of the condo, separated from the open concept Kitchen, Family Room, and Dining Room spaces by French doors.
Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Bedrooms
Jul 15 2016 ·0I recently completed a project with the most wonderful client. She is a single professional woman who works with facts and figures in her career. That no-nonsense mindset is softened by her kind spirit, most amazing jewelry, and willingness to add color, pattern, and exquisite custom touches in the design of her weekend getaway. She has traveled extensively in Europe (particularly Greece and Italy) and wanted to incorporate her European style and treasured artwork into this new-to-her space. I had the best time working on this Cape Cod Golf Course condo project and believe the end result is a collaboration that truly reflects my client and her personality.
Over the course of several months, we transformed nearly every inch of this previously bland, beige, and boring condo. To begin our tour, come take a peek at the bedrooms…
Holiday Cookie Swap
Dec 17 2014 ·0Tis the season for gathering with friends and family, indulging in treats and merriment. I was so disappointed to have to miss my dear friend Gina’s recent annual Holiday Cookie Swap party so I thought I might try to make up for it with a “virtual” cookie swap.
The Teeny, Tiny Kitchen in Boston’s Back Bay
Apr 23 2013 ·3As an interior designer, some of my most challenging projects have been jewel box size, most especially kitchens! Why so challenging? Because in a 10 foot space I have to place a full size stove and vent, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a compactor and a microwave. Did I mention a sink and cabinets? And it has to be posh and inviting. This is the best kind of challenge for me and my team. To create the kitchen I’m featuring today, I collaborated with the best: Venegas and Company. Donna and her team represent the best in cabinetry and know how to work within a 1/16” of an inch. They are awesome!
First, a few before photos to give you a sense of the space…
