A Poem & A Painting: Side By Side
Aug 29 2016 ·0It’s hard to believe that Labor Day is just a week away! While the Summer days may be waning, paintings inspired by Summer last forever 🙂 . This week’s painting was inspired by a trip to Maine and actually originally appeared in a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge I did back in September of 2014…
A Poem & A Painting: Still Thinking Pink
Feb 15 2016 ·0With encouragement from my instructor, I’ve been working on larger paintings of late. I love the juxtaposition of the fun colors (lime green and rose pink) with the more “serious” still life tableau. It reminds me of our New England weather of late ~ arctic cold this weekend, followed by rain and 50 degrees tomorrow with winds whipping most days. Typical!

Fearless Color, Part 3: The Kitchen
Oct 30 2015 ·0This is the 3rd and final installment of posts featuring the home of my client who has a zest for living and no fear when selecting paint colors. Today I’m showing off her kitchen ~ be sure to check out the Living Room and the Family Room in her cozy, colorful home.
The Kitchen space is compact but open, though not fully, to the Family Room. We knew the design of the two spaces would have to complement one another but we also wanted each space to be somewhat unique with it’s own design.
Fearless Color, Part 2: The Family Room
Sep 16 2015 ·0The Color Party Continues! Last week I shared the Living Room space in this fabulous home. Today I present the Family Room. The Family Room is adjacent to, but separate from, the Living Room and open to the Kitchen (which I’ll be showing you soon). All the spaces co-exist nicely but each one has it’s own personality. Come take a peek…
Caught My Eye, Vol. 55
Jun 05 2015 ·0I thought that I might have a chance to catch my breath after Em & Nick’s wedding, but apparently that isn’t the case! Life is still going a mile a minute but with all good things ~ wonderful clients and projects, parties, and of course the beginning of Summer which means plenty of beach and terrace time! In the meantime, here are a few of the things that Caught My Eye this week…

Lilly for Target
Apr 15 2015 ·0Yes, you can add me to the legions of fans who are counting down until the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection goes on sale this Sunday, April 19th. While I’m not typically a Target shopper, Lilly’s bold colors, fun patterns, and stock-up prices make this an event not to be missed ~ even if it means I’ll be shopping from my laptop :-).
Here are a few of the pieces I’ll be trying to get my {cyber} hands on…
Emily’s Colorful Custom Bridal Shower
Mar 26 2015 ·2After months of planning, this weekend it was finally time for Emily’s Bridal Shower! On Sunday, the bridesmaids, the Brother of Honor and I hosted the festive gathering. I am so excited to share the details of this lovely occasion!
Throughout the planning process, I have been so creatively energized with custom ideas to make the day extra special. I was thrilled to see these ideas come to life for the shower.
It all started with the invitation. I feel the invitation really sets the stage for the event. For Emily’s shower invitation I hand painted the design with watercolors and then added one of my favorite quotes.
Ready for Spring
Mar 11 2015 ·0Venturing to Philly last week and attending the Philadelphia Flower Show served to treat me to a tantalizing preview of Spring with all its luscious color and beautiful blooms. Now that I’m home the only color I seem to see when I look out the window is white ~ still. Winter can’t hold on forever though, even in New England. It might even hit 60 degrees today ~ wahoo! I went searching my Pinterest boards for over-the-top colorful inspiration and my Goldilocks Would Love To Sit Here board did not disappoint. Come take a peek…

A Poem & A Painting: Umbrellas at the Tides Inn
Jul 21 2014 ·0I just returned from the BEST vacation with my family! Re-entry back into the “real world” is hard, but I am feeling so blessed and thankful for our time together at Goose Rocks Beach in Maine. Today’s painting is fresh off the easel, painted this morning, and the poem is one I’ve always loved.
Feeling appreciative for Summer, family, and life…

Nothing Says Summer Like A Porch

Tilton Fenwick Fabrics for Duralee
Mar 18 2014 ·0Last week at the Boston Design Center, Duralee introduced the new fabric line by Tilton Fenwick. The two women behind these glorious prints are Anne Maxwell Foster and Suysel dePedro Cunningham. They are partners who do everything together including maternity (even when only Anne had the baby)!
