Dec 19 2016 ·0As I shared previously, I’ve been busy painting these small (4″x4″) ornament canvases for the Christmas season. In addition to the paintings I brought to La Petite Maison, I’ve been having a ball painting more ornaments to give to friends. In fact last night I brought this hexagonal ornament painting to a Yankee Swap ~ much to my delight it was one of the most popular gifts, “swapped” amongst several people. It’s always so much fun to gather with dear friends and I just love seeing people enjoy my work. It truly is a work of heart!

A Poem & A Painting: Crossing Ahead
Nov 28 2016 ·0The end of the year and the holiday season is officially upon us. Time seems to speed up between Thanksgiving and New Year’s ~ much like a train barreling down the tracks. I will try to do my best to enjoy this season with grace and gratitude, stopping to recognize everything from simple pleasures to the greatest blessings. One of the reasons I picked this painting for today was because in addition to being an actual railroad crossing, I see it as symbolizing crossing over into the Christmas season ~ and also the signal pole is reminiscent of a candy cane 😉 .

Apr 11 2016 ·0Although the calendar says Spring, this week’s painting is a throwback to Winter. Considering that we had several inches of snow just last week, I think it’s fitting. I love decorating my chandelier with silver and gold ornaments around the holidays. I can’t resist the sparkle and glam! I love the way the light reflects and brightens everything.

Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Windows 2014

Whether I view them online or am fortunate enough to see them in person, I am always in awe of the creativity, hard work, and planning that goes into bringing each window to life. The windows at Bergdorf Goodman are among my perennial favorites. This year Bergdorf’s has dedicated a window to each of a sampling of the Arts ~ Film, Literature, Painting, Theater and Dance among them. I’ll be visiting NYC the week after Christmas when I’m hoping to view several of the holiday displays, including these amazing windows. Until then, these photos from Racked NY will have to do…
