Modernizing and Customizing Furniture: A Cinderella Story
Jul 26 2017 ·0I have always been a sucker for a Cinderella story, the before and after is just such a dream.
Today I am sharing three furniture customizations in the hopes of encouraging you to take a fresh look at a piece of furniture you may have that has “good bones” but just doesn’t fit your current style. Whether the furniture is from an antique shop, a church fair, or an item you inherited, I encourage you to look beyond the current color, fabric, and/or wood finish. By changing different elements of a piece of furniture, you can modernize and customize it to create a true conversational piece for your home.
A Poem & A Painting: Cozy Corner
Nov 14 2016 ·0Slowly but surely my home is coming together after being turned upside down thanks to unplanned renovations due to water damage. I have been working hard (thank goodness for my dear friend and installer Paul!) and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week ~ fingers crossed, I think I’ll be ready to welcome guests into my home!

Ready for Spring
Mar 11 2015 ·0Venturing to Philly last week and attending the Philadelphia Flower Show served to treat me to a tantalizing preview of Spring with all its luscious color and beautiful blooms. Now that I’m home the only color I seem to see when I look out the window is white ~ still. Winter can’t hold on forever though, even in New England. It might even hit 60 degrees today ~ wahoo! I went searching my Pinterest boards for over-the-top colorful inspiration and my Goldilocks Would Love To Sit Here board did not disappoint. Come take a peek…

30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 15
Jan 15 2014 ·0Wednesday is always a tough middle-of-the-week day for me. It seems I’m constantly running a bit behind and yet the end of the work week is still quite a ways off. In order to give myself a little bit of a respite, I opted for a truly petite painting of my favorite piece of furniture: the chair.
30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 9
Jan 09 2014 ·0Today’s painting features a chair designed by Christopher Guy, my favorite furniture designer. I’ve been to his Robert Allen showroom in Las Vegas as well as his showroom at the D&D building in NYC and it is pure fantasy.
I adore his imagination and hope to own one (or more) of his glamorous pieces one day~ hopefully soon!
