A Painting & A Poem: Sunflowers & Zinnias

Gone are June’s peonies, making room for the mums, sunflowers, and zinnias in the hues of Autumn. I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful bouquet of these flowers ~ though they may not be the bright pinks I favor earlier in the season, they do look very nice in a leopard print vase…

Nov 09 2015 ·0Over Halloween weekend I was fortunate to be able to spend a wonderful weekend in Nantucket with equally wonderful friends. Our hostess, my dear friend Sandy, once again opened her home to us and showered us with her hospitality. She had the most stunning Autumnal arrangement and I was inspired to paint a watercolor interpretation of it as a token of my thanks. I continue to travel with my watercolors and love how easy they are to use whenever the moods strikes.
Posh Pinterest Board of the Week: Flora (Encore)
Jun 24 2013 ·0When I returned home from my trip to Guatemala late last week, one of the things I was most happy to see was the bright colors that enliven our local landscape this time of year. It’s the rainy season in Guatemala which means everything was lush and green. Lots and lots of green with very few blooming flowers. I was anxious to see the containers on my deck and they did not disappoint, welcoming me with their happy blossoms.
That’s why this week I wanted to (once again) highlight my Flora Pinterest board. With gardens and containers in full, beautiful bloom, nothing makes me happier than lots and lots of color. Here are a few of my favorite pins…
