“Today I will marry my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, LOVE”

It’s been of Summer of Love in 2012, as I’ve just attended my third wedding of the season! It is always a privilege to witness the joy and love as two people start their lives together. Not only do I enjoy basking in the glow of happiness at a wedding, I adore all the details that go into making each event special.
The wedding I attended this past weekend took place at the lovely Wianno Club on Cape Cod. From the “Save the Date” card with the navy blue and red trimmings to the parting favors, the theme was beautifully woven through the wedding.
I loved the chair decor that hung along the grassy ceremony aisle. The simple mason jar and hydrangea arrangements were romantic and sweet.
The bride and groom exchanged their vows under an arch of hydrangeas with the sea as their backdrop.
The wedding party’s attire fit the theme as well. The groom and his groomsmen wore Cape Cod pink/red trousers, seersucker blue and white stripe bow ties and navy blue blazers. The bride was breathtaking in a classic strapless white satin gown.
At the reception, I found my seating card nestled into the sand and adorned with a starfish. I have it on my bulletin board to remind me of the summer when it turns cold.
The tables were named after local towns and islands, isn’t that creative? Love it!
The draped linen fabric hanging from the ceiling coupled with the abundant chandeliers lent a soft, warm glow to the space. I loved this detail. Here, the groom and his Mom, my friend Marilyn, are having their dance ~ very jazzy, they did a great job!
All of the special touches and thematic details combined with the love the young couple share made for a beautiful day full of family, friends and happiness.
Earlier in the summer I attended another wedding near the water, this time on a pier on the Charles River in Boston. A most unexpected, and lovely, location.
After the ceremony, all of the guests were treated to a sail with the Boston skyline in the background… what a unique treat!
A traditional wedding still captures my heart, look at these adorable ring bearers at the another wedding I attended this summer…
My friend Mary, the beautiful bride…
I think this photo says it all, ‘Yea, we’re married!’
Finally, I couldn’t resist sharing this painting, entitled ‘Wedding House’.
I painted this as a gift for a newlywed couple from last year. Can you see the veil billowing in the breeze? On the day of the wedding, the mother of the bride hung a bouquet and veil on the front door while waiting for the bride to get dressed. It was such a romantic scene, I couldn’t resist painting this for the couple’s 1st Anniversary.
Congratulations to all the newlyweds from my Summer of Weddings and for the glorious festivities you created with style, individual design and love.
xo,
Pamela
