South Shore Art Center Festival of the Arts, Cohasset

There are so many traditions that happen in my area in the summer that it is almost hard to keep up with them~ but it’s a lot of fun trying. Father’s Day weekend in the quaint seaside town of Cohasset, the South Shore Art Center hosts their annual Arts Festival. “South Shore Art Center Arts Festival mixes the best of small town New England summer festivals with an uncommon attention to detail and commitment t0 presenting quality art and handmade craft” ~ an apt description to be sure.
This year marked the 59th Annual Festival and even though the sun was not shining on opening day on Friday (the 13th…) the art was spectacular and those of us who were there are of “hardy New England” stock :-).
Here are some of my favorite paintings and art from the Festival…
This still life by Kim Alemian won Best of Show
Loved this black and white sculpture
My dear Page Railsback is always recognized for her outstanding talent (Honorable Mention for this work)
Portrait by Lauren Bass
Another ribbon winner, Susan Ahearn ~ love her style
Pastel nest, love this imagery…
My Dinner for 2 painting made the juried show. I was thrilled!
A fellow GJWP member, Nancy Collela, had this work on display. Love her beach figures.
Art Shows are fun for everyone ~ this little guy was thirsty I guess…
Debbie Burnham is another portrait artist I adore…
I encourage you to seek out the art shows in your area and pick out a piece of art for your home. Not only will you be supporting a local artist, your artwork is sure to bring you joy for years to come!

Pamela
