That title is a mouthful, isn’t it! Just wait until you see the party ~ pardon my phone pics, but trust me, it was gorgeous.
Over the holidays we attended a very special {BIG} Birthday Party. The Birthday Girl’s husband and her best friends surprised her with one of the most charming parties I have ever attended.
The location was tricky, there were about 50 guests and music was a necessity. The party had to have a theme, of course. Allow me to review the facts about the Birthday Girl:
- She was raised in Alaska and resides in New England, currently on the North Shore of Boston
- She is a natural beauty with exquisite taste
- She and her husband just purchased an in-town home, The Tiny House, that happened to be scheduled for demolition 2 days after her birthday
Do you see where this is heading? Naturally, they decided to have the party at the at the empty new/old house with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s meets the Alaskan wilderness theme! Really???
Well, when we arrived at the Tiny House we were greeted by a candle-lined path that led to the front porch of the house. There were also tiny white lights on the trees and a fire pit that was ablaze, warming up a very cold night. As we waited for the Guest of Honor to arrive we were handed sparklers as well as a glass of pink champagne. Having fun already!
The “decorating committee” embellished the interior of the house with greens and cut tree branches with white lights and flower arrangements of pink peonies and greens.
And of course with the Alaska theme there were several taxidermy animal heads. The juxtaposition of the fresh flowers and the rustic heads was a perfect blend.
Love this deer head…really I can’t believe I am saying this…but isn’t she sweet? Alas though, I couldn’t have one in my home ~ I was traumatized as a child after watching Bambi!
Love this chalkboard message and the fab low lit mood lighting…
Yes, the gentleman in this photo is holding a small ski with 3 shot glasses resting atop it~Cheers! Also notice the “tentesque” drape in the background that closed off the caterers…love this idea!
It wouldn’t be a party without music and the band was FAB
The Birthday Girl’s best friends got creative with the dress code, one guest combined buffalo check flannel with a tulle skirt…
Total Glam!
The Birthday Girl’s very thoughtful and handsome husband~ great hat!
The beautiful Guest of Honor, Birthday Girl Amy…
What a wonderful way to celebrate a Christmas birthday!
We had a long drive so we left a bit early, but I heard that at the end of the party the guests were given hammers and everyone made a dent into the existing walls ~ making way for the new walls and a new decade of memories for Amy and her family.
What do you think of this unique party? I hope you find an idea or two to incorporate into your next gathering!
xo,
Pamela
