Pamela’s Posh Picks: The Divine Chair
Jan 11 2013 · 2 comments · My Paintings, Posh Picks ·0
While visiting NYC in December, I had just a sliver of time to check out the GreenFlea Market on Manhattan’s Upper West side. It was my first visit and most assuredly not my last!
One of my favorite vendors from my quick peek was a fab company called The Divine Chair.
In her own words, designer & owner Kitty McBride ‘pairs vintage chairs with fashionable fabrics {creating} one-of-a-kind art works. Creative and cool, The Divine Chair fits today’s lifestyle where “green living” means thinking outside of the box.’
Marrying traditional shapes with bold textiles and paint, the creations from The Divine Chair are at once modern, chic, and whimsical ~ perfect Posh Picks to brighten up a gray January day! I loved all of the Divine Chairs I saw at the GreenFlea Market, but here are my faves…
‘A fabulous antique occasional chair, reupholstered in a hot pink and chocolate damask with solid velvet on the seat and chrome nails around the frame’
‘A striking vintage piece, reupholstered in a Japanese printed linen and finished with a mustard piping and a black gloss frame’
XAVIER & friend
I’m not sure of the name of this ‘hot little number’ in coral and lemon with nailhead trim, but I love its spunk and sophistication! Peeking out from behind is Xavier, ‘a fabulous bergere, reupholstered in a black and white cotton chevron and finished with silver nails and a high gloss aqua frame.‘
I find it hard not to smile when looking at these chairs! Perhaps you’d love to have a Divine Chair in your space? I saw that The Divine Chair is currently being featured on flash sale site Fab.com ~ with special pricing.
I have one more divine chair to share with you today, it’s this week’s petite oil painting (which I must admit, I just love)…

Happy Weekend!

Pamela
