Pamela’s Posh Gift Guide: For the Family

Only 19 more shopping days until Christmas! Time for another edition of Pamela’s Posh Gift Guide! This week we’re focusing on gifts for the family. Of course our families are special, but the gifts we give them don’t necessarily need to be expensive. Here are several thoughtful, reasonable gifts that are easy to personalize ~ with a splurge or two thrown in…
Give the Gift of an Experience
I love the idea of an “Experience” gift. Particularly for someone who is hard to shop for or doesn’t really need material goods, planning an outing is a wonderful way to spend time together. Taking in a production of ‘The Nutcracker’, meeting for cocktails at a posh lounge or even going to the movies all make wonderful gifts. If you’re looking for something more extravagant, how about treating a loved one to a trip together ~ a weekend at a spa or a few days in the tropics! What a great way to bond and make memories!
Give the Gift of a Family Heirloom
What a meaningful way for a member of the older generation to connect with younger family members! By sharing a piece of family or personal history ~ a beautiful piece of china or a sentimental piece of jewelry ~ you are deepening the connection within your family in a tangible way!
Give the Gift of Photos
You can frame a photo, create an album or scrapbook or go all out and create a hardcover photo book for a beloved family member. I love this idea, so personal and a great way to get those treasured photos off of computers and phones and into a format everyone can enjoy!
Give the Gift of Homemade Baked Goods
For the family member that has everything, including a sweet tooth, enroll them in their very own ‘Baked Good of the Month’ club. Each month, you can bake and deliver a special treat to the recipient ~ so thoughtful and delicious!
Give the Gift of A Service
It seems everyone I know could use some help with something. Snow shoveling, computer tutoring, organization and toting and hauling heavy items are all service tasks that make great gifts. What service can you perform for another family member? Make a voucher explaining just that and wrap it up ~ so helpful and so appreciated!
Have you given a unique, meaningful gift to give to a family member in the past? I’d love to hear your ideas!
