High Point Market Fall 2015: Trends and Favorites From Afar
Oct 22 2015 · 0 comments · Design Events ·0
One of the biggest events of the Design Year took place over this past week, the Fall Market at High Point in North Carolina. What is High Point Market? It is “the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point every six months. Serious retail home furnishings buyers can be found in High Point twice a year because if you can’t find it in High Point…it probably doesn’t exist.”{source}. While I have never attended a High Point Market in person, I can assure you that a visit is on my “Design Bucket List” and is actually in the works for the next Market in April! While I was unable to attend this edition of High Point, lucky for me (and you), many of my design friends and colleagues were there and documented their finds on social media. I thought it would be fun to share some of my picks for Trends and Faves from High Point ~ even if I was 900 miles away. Come take a peek…
Trend: Bold Patterns
Love the pattern as seen in Julia Buckingham’s collection for Global Views. Her use of color and pattern is right on trend.
And can we talk about the floor to ceiling gold chandeliers in this vignette? “Too much of a good thing is wonderful” and these chandeliers are perfectly eye catching! How extraordinary would they be in a 2-3 story foyer…be still my heart! What’s not to love about the circular seating ~ the perfect spot to relax and share a secret…
I am a huge fan of Kate Spade ready-to-wear and now I am over thte moon with her sophisticated but not too serious furniture line. I am lusting over this polka dot desk, aren’t you?
Dunes and Duchess sconces and lamps compliment this vibrant patterned headboard with fabric by Cotton & Quill. Fresh and fun!
And of course, this animal print Liv Daybed by CR Laine is always in fashion…
Hunt Slomen Bunny fabric on this CR Laine chair..yes, please!
Trend: Bright Colors
I am so happy to see so much color! The brighter the better!
Tobi Fairley’s second collection for CR Laine is as breathtaking as her first one that debuted this past Spring. I love her palette and her fierce use of color. This black and yellow combination is a winner.
Kate Spade does it again with this pink Drake Slipper Chair…perfection
This chest with the pink paper-wrapped doors by Thibaut is fun and yet the lines are so clean, this piece grabs my heart….
Trend: Lustrous Metallic Finishes
This chest by Cynthia Rowley for Hooker Furniture features a unique trellis design with an aged mirror finish. With the accompanying brass & fur chair, the mood is pure Hollywood Glam.
Contemporary pieces are sneaking into New England design and this acrylic table with brass accents by Thom Filicia is stunning…
Another Tobi Fairley design, the Elle chair, this time with animal print married to brass touches. A looker for sure!
Trend: Feminine Lines & Details
The Chandra Chair by Koket in a regal burgundy is balanced on the most delicate and dainty legs with curves like a ballet dancer…
This Ribbon table by Rivers Spencer for Tritter Feefer is sleek but fancy (and just look at the polished stainless finish)
The Wiggle chair by Julia Buckingham combines soft curves with bold lines and patterns
The petite fur detail on this chair by Home on the Runway is to. die. for.
Trend: Wonderful Walls
Malachite is still making an appearance and this was a very appealing backdrop for this gorgeous acrylic chandelier designed by Palmer Earley.
These polished Coup & Co blue agate wall panels are amazing…
Incredible gold art deco walls ~ can you believe this is wallpaper??
Looking over these photos has me counting the days until my visit to High Point in April! Do you see something you love? Contact me about working together to create the space of your dreams!
