“The ornaments of your house will be the guests who frequent it”

When we last checked in at our Cape Cod seaside home, I shared with you the transformation of the Children’s Suite. Well, this luxurious home boasts three additional guest rooms in the main house. Even though each bedroom has water views, we opted for a more sophisticated design that compliments the blue of the sky and the water with a reference to sand and seashells. Come take a peek…
This first bedroom is quite large and had great bones: high ceiling, window seat, and architectural detail on the walls.
This queen size bed even has a trundle underneath for a little one. The goal is to fill this home with many visitors, family and guests. I love the fabric on the duvet, the colors provided the palette for all the other selections in this room.
This cozy bedroom sitting area is enhanced with a painting by Sandy Welch.
A window seat with a view is such a luxury. The crystal sconces and beaded edge valance add perfect touches of posh!
The adjoining bathroom, before:
We added a lovely crystal chandelier and artwork and of course…
More towels (I sure am glad I’m not doing the laundry!), don’t you love the monograms? And this painting my dear friend Kelley MacDonald? Her sunsets are divine!
This is the middle bedroom and the coziest guest bedroom (designated for their sweet daughter). This is the view from where the bed will eventually be placed:
Voila, transformed into the Yellow Room! There is a glow about this room, so inviting.
Near the end of this project with 18 hr. days, I really wanted to play Princess and the Pea on this bed!
Most of the bedroom furniture is from Somerset Bay. Their pieces are beautifully made with many options for color and design.
The en suite bathroom towels say, “Have a glass of wine”, “Have a cup of tea”, “Read a poem”, “Hug Someone”. Great advice!
At the opposite end of the house, the final guest room. Again, a large, long bedroom:
The wall detail was in very poor condition and needed quite a bit of renovation before we could even commence the painting~
The room turned out beautifully in the end, don’t you think?
The Camden display case from Somerset Bay is a charming and functional addition to the room:
There is something so elegant about a chaise for an afternoon nap ~ now that is a weekend or a vacation…
And you guessed it… yes, another window seat. Ahhhh…
One final detail, a nod to the sea beyond…
I hope you’re enjoying this series, I am certainly enjoying reliving this project! Tomorrow’s installment features the Home Office and Family Room ~ if only projects happened so quickly in real life!
xo,
Pamela
