Diary of an Interior Designer: Cape Cod Seaside Home, The Dining Room

One of the best parts of having a spacious home with room for family and friends is sharing a meal. The Dining Room at our Cape Cod home is the perfect spot with room for everyone.
While I don’t have any before pictures to share, this room started off like so many of the other spaces in this home: a blank slate with lots of windows and a great water view. Once again we selected a color palette that would echo the landscape outside: sun, sea, sky and sand ~ with bright pops of color of course!…
The dining room table can expand to seat 12 (14, if you’re on a very friendly basis).
The ceiling detail lends a formal air to the space, we chose to emphasize this feature with paint. I love the way it turned out:
Monogrammed chairs, one for each of the owners of the home, add a personalized touch:
I adore this very special chandelier with seahorses and seashells. The chandelier subtly references the waterfront location of the home without screaming “We are on the water!” ~ all you have to do to know that is look outside!
Everywhere you go in this home, you are welcomed and encouraged to stay a while…
Hope you enjoyed this peek at the dining room!
xo,
Pamela
