In this report from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, I will be highlighting two more of our generous Designhounds 2019 sponsors, Lamps Plus and Thompson Traders.
While I was familiar with Lamps Plus before KBIS, I learned a lot about their product lines and just what they mean by ‘Plus’! Thompson Traders is one of my favorite vendors, I’ve long admired not only the exquisite craftsmanship of their products but even more so the story and warmth of their family.
Lamps Plus
Lamps Plus has always been a go-to resource for interior designers and contractors because of their vast selection of lighting products. They offer both exterior and interior fixtures including pendants, chandeliers, sconces, and of course table and floor lamps.
Here are a few of my favorites from the Lamps Plus booth at KBIS:
As for the ‘Plus’ in Lamps Plus, did you know they offer a plethora of products to decorate your entire home, inside and out? Mirrors, upholstered furniture, tables, decorative pillows, outdoor furniture, and even rugs and wall decor (and much more!).
Note: You can watch my quick video about Lamps Plus from the show on my Instagram feed
Lamps Plus has been around for 40 years and they continue to lead the way with innovative lighting products and an ever expanding selection of home products. I invite you to browse their website ~ you will be happily surprised by what you can find!
Thompson Traders
It is always a treat to cross paths with sponsors who have become friends at professional shows and events and such was the case at the Thompson Traders booth at KBIS.
I met Clifford Thompson, president of Thompson Traders, in Boston about 2 years ago. While speaking to me about hosting an event to introduce the Boston design community to Thompson Trader’s beautiful products, Clifford was gracious and charming in explaining the Thompson family story and about the village Santa Clara del Cobre where their copper sinks (and other products) are made. I was mesmerized by his story and drawn in by his warmth. When I met his sister, Samantha and his mother Alejandra, I found they are all special and love what they design and produce.
Alejandra is the founder and creative visionary of Thompson Traders. As she tells the story, she always wanted to create something for her family. Her home in western Mexico is close to Santa Clara del Cobre (which means copper), where masters in metal create one of a kind pieces of art for the home. These creations support the region to this day.
At KBIS, Thompson Traders introduced a new collection of Matte and Glossy black sinks.
I personally adore the glossy black sink, I think it is ultra glam and chic.
They also introduced a new pedestal sink
And of course many styles of their stunning copper and metal sink were on display
The other big star of the Thompson Traders booth was their custom Range Hoods. Each one is expertly crafted to the client’s specifications using the highest quality materials.
The copper one is stunning and adds a lovely, warm glow to the room
Just look at how a Thompson Traders custom range hood is the subtle star of this kitchen~
And the black and copper hood is very versatile
Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your passion and beautiful products!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this KBIS recap featuring Lamps Plus and Thompson Traders and that perhaps you’ve even learned a little bit and been inspired. Stay tuned for more great products and another recap coming soon!

Pamela
