Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle

As you may know if you follow me on Instagram (you should!), I was recently in Seattle for a few days with my son. If you’re a follower of my blog, you probably also know that I am a huge fan of Dale Chihuly, the legendary and innovative glass artist. I have written about my admiration of Chihuly’s work several times in the past (read here, here) including my visit to his grand installation at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston a few years ago.
Naturally when I knew I would be in Seattle, home of the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit, I knew it would be one of our first stops. The entire installation was stunning and did not disappoint! Come take a peek at some of my favorite photos from our visit…
I spy a peek of color from the outside of the garden
This exquisite piece ( a bowl) is glorious, the shape is so feminine
Does this remind you of a blue dress?
Close up of all of the shapes of glass ~ ahhhhh
It has been said that Chihuly’s work has elevated blown glass from delicate decorative objects to groundbreaking fine art. There was so much evidence of that here!
Now this gives new meaning to the term “glass ceiling”. Lol
Love these colors…don’t you?
Now this is glorious. Do you see the Space Needle?
The Chandelier Hallway was one of the things I was most looking forward to seeing…
I have a hall, I would love to make it a Chandelier Hallway!
The garden blue…
Love this photo with the Space Needle in the background…I can’t believe I took it.
Don’t these look like birthday candles??
This shape in raspberry is so beautiful in person.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies ~ the perfect backdrop for exquisite glass art and for sharing this experience with my son. If you ever find yourself in Seattle, the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibition is not to be missed!

Pamela
