Top 5 Entertaining & Décor Tips from La Petite Maison Presentation
May 26 2016 ·1Recently I was part of a presentation given to the Hingham Newcomers Club at La Petite Maison in downtown Hingham. Here’s a peek at our presentation and some of our best tips for entertaining and creating a stylish and personalized home.

New Store Opening: Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams in Natick!
May 21 2015 ·0The brand new Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Home Furnishings store in Natick is breathtaking. The new building, the new Spring/ Summer pieces and the staff are all, as we’ve come to expect, outstanding. I’ve written several times in the past about my love for Mitchell Gold on my blog (here and here for example). I adore everything about them: their mission statement, the fact that their products are made here in the grand ol USA, and their reasonably priced yet cutting edge designs for all.
Come take a peek at the new Natick store…
Lilly for Target
Apr 15 2015 ·0Yes, you can add me to the legions of fans who are counting down until the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection goes on sale this Sunday, April 19th. While I’m not typically a Target shopper, Lilly’s bold colors, fun patterns, and stock-up prices make this an event not to be missed ~ even if it means I’ll be shopping from my laptop :-).
Here are a few of the pieces I’ll be trying to get my {cyber} hands on…
Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Windows 2014
Dec 10 2014 ·0The Holiday Windows in New York City are one of my favorite traditions. Whether I view them online or am fortunate enough to see them in person, I am always in awe of the creativity, hard work, and planning that goes into bringing each window to life. The windows at Bergdorf Goodman are among my perennial favorites. This year Bergdorf’s has dedicated a window to each of a sampling of the Arts ~ Film, Literature, Painting, Theater and Dance among them. I’ll be visiting NYC the week after Christmas when I’m hoping to view several of the holiday displays, including these amazing windows. Until then, these photos from Racked NY will have to do…

Portland, Maine: A City of Art, Design & Culinary Delights
Feb 25 2014 ·0This past weekend I spent two beautiful sunny days visiting my son, Fred, in Portland, Maine, his new home. My time in Portland was such a treat on so many levels. Today I’m so excited to share some of the highlights of my visit…
How do you know you’re in Maine? This (very tame) moose at a rest stop on the Turnpike is a good indication! I just had to take this photo:
Chocolate Lover’s Class at Ralph’s Wine & Spirits
Feb 06 2014 ·0Ralph’s Wines and Spirits is a gem of a local business offering libations, classes and tastings at their Hingham shop. At Ralph’s, their guiding principle is that “wine, beer and cocktails are all better enjoyed when accompanied by great food!” Their goal at Ralph’s “isn’t just to sell you our product, it is to educate you on it, taste you on it and hopefully introduce your palate to nothing it has ever experienced before!”
I was the lucky recipient of the gift of a Corks & Forks class at Ralph’s by my dear friend G. Along another sweet friend, D, we attended the Chocolate Lover’s Class, conducted by Nicole Coady, owner of Fixx Chocolates and sommelier Ralph Herson. Oh, did we have fun!

Ralph Lauren at Greenwich, CT
Nov 19 2013 ·0Last week on my way to NYC, I visited Greenwich, CT. The highlight was a stroll down “The Avenue” in downtown Greenwich, a collection of upscale shops, local boutiques and restaurants, and flagships of national stores. The shop windows were dressed for the season and beckoning me to enter…how could I resist??

Spring Inspiration at Anthropologie
Apr 17 2013 ·0{Boston.com has put together an excellent list of ways you can help victims of Monday’s horrific events here in Boston}
Last week I was a guest speaker at Quincy College in a Design Program seminar. One of the questions that was asked was: “Where do you get your inspiration?”
The answer is simple: EVERYWHERE…
I don’t mean to sound coy, but if you learn how to see and use your senses to absorb your surroundings, it truly is…
The Smell of Spring
Apr 03 2013 ·2There is nothing like the smell of Spring ~ so fresh, so new, so…green. Fortunately, you can smell Spring any time of the year as soon as you step into Winston Flowers in Hingham (or any of their locations). Last week, just before Easter, I wandered into what felt like Paradise on a dreary, cold and gray day and into a garden of color and fragrance…
