Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Office
Aug 26 2016 · 0 comments · My Designs ·0
While the Cape Cod Golf Course condo I designed with my fabulous client is primarily a weekend retreat, we all know that in this day and age, work tends to follow us everywhere. Thus it was important to have an Office space in the condo ~ but just because a space is utilitarian doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful and reflect personal taste and design aesthetic.
The Office is on the main floor of the condo, separated from the open concept Kitchen, Family Room, and Dining Room spaces by French doors.
We upgraded the builder’s grade door hardware to this beautiful cut glass knob. It lends the perfect tailored touch of glam to this female executive’s Office. We carefully chose the escutcheon as well, note the beautiful brass finish and raised engraving.
For the sheer panels that cover the glass panes, we incorporated a layered treatment featuring a woven linen with a gold filigreed fabric. This result is privacy with transparency (and a touch of sparkle!).
A desk is a necessity for an Office and we were able to reuse one of my client’s existing pieces. We updated the look with a stunning Cynthia Rowley lamp and custom framing for some of my client’s family and travel photos.
I believe that a workspace should also have at least one comfortable chair and this custom upholstered club chair from Kravet fits the bill beautifully. Just look at the exquisite craftsmanship including the pleat detail and the way the pattern on the fabric is perfectly aligned throughout the piece ~ a true mark of quality.
Of course the gorgeous Kravet trim adds an extra special detail and finishing touch.
I love this photo because it shows the three different fabrics we used in the space. Adding patterns of varying sizes and styles while staying within a color scheme adds depth, interest, and sophistication to the design.
The custom window treatments serve as the crowning touch of the Office.
Using a Kravet fabric, we chose a classically evolved swag with inverted box pleats paired with stationary drapes. The semi-transparent matchstick blinds add texture and provide privacy without blocking all of the natural light.
The beaded trim (from Kravet, of course) is the perfect finishing touch, once again adding sparkle, color, and glam in an understated manner.
I hope you’ve enjoyed “touring” this Cape Cod Golf Course condo as much as I’ve enjoyed designing and sharing it! If you missed any of the posts you can catch up here: Bedrooms, Dining Room, Family Room. This client was truly a dream to work with and I believe we succeeded in creating a beautiful home that incorporates her personal style, artwork, and other treasured pieces and also reflects her joyful character and love of family. I hope she will enjoy this home for many happy years to come!

Pamela
