Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Dining Room

I’m excited to share another space in the Cape Cod Golf Course Condo that I collaborated on the interior design of with the sweetest, most wonderful client. Today I have a tour of the Dining Room which underwent quite a dramatic transformation.
Here’s where we started (sorry for the blurry picture but the worse the ‘before’ picture the better, right??):
And here’s where we ended up!
Isn’t it an amazing change? From dark New England Colonial to sophisticated beachy vintage chic! I think it’s the details that really make this space. Let’s take a look at a few…
The star of this dining room is the stunning table. The table is the Country Pie Top with High-Low Planking by Bausman & Company, purchased through the Ailanthus Showroom at the Boston Design Center. The driftwood finish is to die for and perfect for this Cape Cod setting.
This table actually expands from a circle to an oval (seating for 10!) to accommodate my client’s large extended family. The leaves are stored inside the table and transforming the table is quick and easy due to the superior workmanship of the piece.
Seating is provided by a custom upholstered bench and X-back dining chairs in the same driftwood finish.
The craftsmanship and detail on these pieces is amazing ~ right down to the nailhead trim!
The dining room is open to the Family Room and Kitchen so we used a beautiful rug from Colony Rug to define the space.
The weathered appearance and colors compliment and anchor the room perfectly. The other key component in any dining space is a buffet or sideboard. My client found a beautiful vintage piece that we had hand embellished by my friend and local artist Tori Brega.
Tori really made the details of the sideboard pop with her exquisite and colorful touches. It looks great with the lovely lamp my client purchased at Setting the Space at the Derby Shops in Hingham.
Overall I love how we were able to accomplish so much is this relatively compact space.
We created a cohesive, flexible, and stylish dining room that accommodates family and friends and incorporates brand-new exquisite furniture as well as vintage and personal touches. I know my client will enjoy many laughter-filled meals in this dining room and I’m so happy to have had a part in creating this space!
Stay tuned for the Office of this Cape Cod Golf Course Condo! In case you missed the bedrooms, take a peek here. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
