A couple of weeks ago during The Look event at the Boston Design Center, Bruscshwig & Fils introduced two new lines to its fabric collection, Tresors de Jouy and Hommage.
David Toback, Design Director for B&F, was a most enthusiastic speaker and truly loves his fabric. And I fell in love with it too, it is lush, colorful and historic.
Tresors de Jouy highlights one of the most popular French style fabrics: toiles.
Toiles were meant to inspire daydreams to peasants in the fields. The first toiles were created on finely engraved copper plates and typically depicted romanticized scenes of country life. The blue and white toile pictured above has no less than 5 shades of blue which creates such detail and depth on the fabric.
We learned that the way to distinguish an outstanding toile is by the faces on the subjects, and most especially the faces of the animals. If the face is beautiful and detailed you have a wonderful toile.
Hommage is a collection that revives beloved prints from the past while launching exciting new weaves for the present day. Take a peek…
Bruncshwig & Fils also offers a colorful collection of wallcoverings suitable for any room, that complement their fabrics.
My favorite part of Design is the details. According to the trend report, it appears that trims and beading will be popular in interior design again! Brunschwig & Fils have created new color combinations and beading in their trim line to embellish our window creations and upholstery…yippee!
Finally, a last glimpse at the flowers that welcomed us at The Look… Until next year!
