BlogTour Vegas: Thermador, You’re A Star!

While attending BlogTourVegas and the KBIS show, I had the opportunity (actually, on several occasions) to learn about the many outstanding and innovative Thermador appliances with Zach Elkin, Director of Brand Marketing and his team.
I may not be much of a chef, but I came away inspired and impressed with the Thermador line. On our first full day of BlogTour Vegas, Thermador joined us at Modenus Talks, on the 2nd day we had a special tour of their booth on the KBIS show floor, and we were then treated to a delicious luncheon at a nearby country club.
Yes, this team got my attention!

Did you know that Thermador is a 99 year-old boutique company? They pride themselves on creating “real innovations” for real cooks and culinary enthusiasts. This iconic line of appliances offers, cooking, cleaning, refrigeration and ventilation products ~ truly impressive ones at that.
Thermador offers an extensive selection of ranges, something for every size kitchen. The professional series is available in 30”, 36” and 48”.
One item that caught my eye in particular was Thermador’s Refrigeration Columns. These built-in upright refrigerators inspire many possibilities from uses to locations (near the back door to grab drinks on the go, in a media room, as a secondary unit in a kitchen…).
The Freedom Collection Wine Column is designed to “satisfy the most demanding oenophile by keeping wine at the ideal temperature” ~ wonderful! I must also mention that Thermador has even created an innovation in ice cubes. Thermador’s diamond ice melts slower than regular ice and keeps beverages cooler longer. And diamond ice = true glam!
However, what really turned my head was Thermador’s exclusive star burner. Not only is it great looking but it creates “56% more heat, more than a round burner of the same size, which allows the inclusion of many more flame ports. The result is a stove burner that delivers superior flame spread and a reduced cold spot for faster and more even heating across any size pan.” Now that is star quality!
Thermador also works with elite chefs to be sure that their appliances are up to the task of cooking superb meals. Take a peek at this mouth watering video featuring Seared Scallops with Kohlrabi Salad.
We learned that Thermador sponsors a cooking school, Cucina Italiano at Michael Anthony’s in Hilton Head, SC. Here participants learn cooking techniques and prepare amazing food from Executive Chefs using state-of-the-art appliances from Thermador. Quite an endorsement!
I want to finish up telling you about Thermador by sharing this fun anecdote from the Modenus Talks session. Mr. Elkin was asking us questions about cooking styles and such. When I had the chance to speak I opted to ask him a question, “What appliance would be best for me to use to cook, where I am not a true lover of preparing meals?”
He may have chuckled a bit before giving me an answer: Thermador’s new Steam Range.
He shared that there is no transfer of flavors and cooking is healthy and fast. I am intrigued and am going to search out a demonstration.
Everyone we met from Thermador was devoted to the company and very proud of their innovative products. Their enthusiasm was contagious and rightly so.
Cheers to Thermador!

Pamela
