BlogTour Milan: Restaurant Reviews
May 15 2014 · 0 comments · BlogTour Milan, Food & Drink ·0
As promised, here is a sampling of some of the wonderful restaurants we visited with BlogTour Milan (and Venice). As you might expect, the food and libations were delicious and the design of the spaces was equally appealing. We are talking about Italy after all!
Here are a few of my dining highlights…
While we were on the Island of Giudecca in Venice, we shared dinner at a “neighborhood” place (I wish I had this restaurant in my neighborhood!). We had a long table and the food just melted in my mouth…so simple and fresh! Many of us ordered the lasagna and we all ate every bite! The salad and bread were extra special but then again nothing I could explain, just delicious and fresh and Italian without trying too hard.
The design featured stucco walls with what I would call a faux finish (but is probably aged finish in Venice), and was cozy and warm.

While on a walking tour with Christina of SlowVenice, we stopped at a square to eat lunch at this Neopolitan restaurant. I believe that everyone on BlogTourMilan would give this a resounding 10 on nearly all counts. The design could not be better, the setting, outside in Venice, was dreamy (really), and the food was amazing. I loved the pizza, pasta and the unusual…

I sampled a few gelato places, but Amorino was by far my favorite. At this spectacular shop they serve gelato in a rosebud shape cone ~ can you stand it? Fit for Snow White (and me) for sure!

My friend Robin and I ate at the Living Room at the Ventura Lambrate design enclave. This Pop-Up restaurant by Amaro Creative Industries in collaboration with Lago and Mosa offered drinks, food and more adjacent to the avant grade design exhibits featuring up and coming designers. We lunched on a pure Italian “board” of meats, olives and cheeses that tasted so good…did I mention red wine, of course? 10!
Love these antique “roadies” serving water and sparkling waters!

After being introduced to Gessi’s Private Wellness concepts in their spectacular showroom, we were treated to lunch at their equally spectacular private Dining Room. We enjoyed a 4 course lunch which satisfied our appetites but did not weigh us down for the rest of the day. And, just look at this light fixture!

When in Milan, this is a spot not to be missed! The space is filled with history (and is a bit of a tourist attraction) and I especially loved the downstairs mosaic, the Campari cocktails, and the views are the toast of Milan!

Last but not least, Pizzeria Fabbrica was not the most flashy of all of the restaurants BlogTourMilan visited, but it was where we all spent our last night together. The new BlogTour members were inducted and together we said our goodbyes. We promised to never forget this very special time we became a family away from home, sang BlogTour songs, shared personal stories, hugs and sooo many laughs and fell in love with each and every one of our sponsors.
The desk manager at our hotel sent us complimentary pizzas the 2 times I visited which was very sweet. On our last night we ate, toasted and said Fino a quando ci incontreremo di nuovo (Until we meet again)!
