Recently I had the privilege of staying at the historic and exclusive Yale Club in New York City. Located just steps from Grand Central Station on Vanderbilt Avenue, this neo-classically designed building combines traditional elegance with contemporary amenities. Come take a tour of some of the public areas with me…
The well-appointed Library…
The ornate, detailed ceiling gives one the sense of being wrapped in a literary cocoon of sorts:
President Clinton and President Bush are represented on the walls of the Club as Yale alumni:
The walls leading to the private rooms are lined with photos of Yale sports teams of the past…
The 22 story building was recently renovated and now features amenities such as wireless internet service in every guest room and contemporary gourmet dining within the traditional understated elegance of Yale’s historic clubhouse.
What a magnificent Main Lounge:
Again, notice the amazing details on the ceiling. I love the sophisticated peek-a-boo moment created by these velvet drapes…
Sherry is served at the richly detailed, masculine bar:
My artist’s eye is always on the lookout, I loved this beautiful watercolor sketchbook featuring paintings of the Yale campus:
It was such a treat to walk under the awning of the Yale Club!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this Interior Designer’s peek inside the Yale Club!
xo,
Pamela
