A Poem & A Painting: Summer Concert
Mar 03 2014 · 0 comments · A Poem & A Painting ·0
I’m preparing for my first full day in Atlanta at the Design Blogger’s Conference (follow me on Twitter and Instagram for updates) but once again I have a poem (sort of) and a painting (sort of) to share. I’m all about bending the rules ~ especially when it comes to my blog and my art!
Today I’m sharing a very special mixed media shadowbox piece I created in honor of my son Fred, whose birthday was over the weekend. If you follow my blog, you know he is a musician, and that was the inspiration for this piece and the accompanying poem (ahem, song lyrics ~ shhh, don’t tell).
Do you remember the
21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away
Ba de ya – say do you remember
Ba de ya – dancing in September
Ba de ya – never was a cloudy day
My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay
Now December found the love that we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today
Ba de ya – say do you remember
Ba de ya – dancing in September
Ba de ya – never was a cloudy day
Ba de ya – say do you remember
Ba de ya – dancing in September
Ba de ya – golden dreams were shiny days
I’m actually showcasing this piece for this month’s Mixed Media challenge for the Girls Just Wanna Paint Group. I invite you to take a peek at the other entries on the GJWP blog ~ such a great variety!
Finally, I want to thank everyone who voted for Posh Palettes in the Modenus Top 100 Interior Design Blogs. I am thrilled to say that we made it! Thank you all again for your continued support!
xo,
Pamela
