A Poem & A Painting: Inspired by Southern Home Magazine & Rivers Spencer

I am back after a heavenly week in Philadelphia with Daisy, Emily, and Nick. I am thrilled to say that Daisy is making great strides and what a privilege it was to witness her progress in person!
In between snuggling, feeding, walking, and kissing Daisy, I did manage to do a bit of painting. As I have mentioned before, it is near impossible to travel with oil paints. I find that my watercolor palette is perfect for travel and my watercolor “sketches” are a great base to work from later. This week’s painting was inspired by a Southern Home magazine cover featuring a living room designed by Rivers Spencer. While Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, I certainly left mine in Philadelphia…
“We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there.”
~Pascal Mercier, Night Train to Lisbon

I am counting the days until I see my Philadelphia family again!
Also, if you aren’t already, I invite you to follow me on Instagram for updates between blog posts: my art account: @pamelacopemanart and my Interior Design account: @pamela_copeman_design. Who knows, Miss Daisy might even make a guest appearance there 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
