A Poem & A Painting: Carolann’s Antique Bottles

This week’s poem and painting have an antique flair. I painted a still life of antique bottles and thought this poem was a nice accompaniment…
What is lovely in a world
of splintered wood and faded golden rings,
stained glass and tarnished silver,
hearts, antiques, and other broken things?
What may have been discarded in the past
Now shines to brilliantly to perish,
not alone in longing to be loved
and dying to be cherished.

This week’s painting, which you may have seen in progress if you follow me on Instagram…
If you’re local, I’d love to see you this Sunday October 18th from 12-4pm for the Hingham Arts Walk.
During this art filled afternoon you can explore downtown Hingham and visit with artists all of kinds and view live demonstrations. I will be painting at White Magdelena House inside their new location at 69 Water Street, just across from The Fruit Center.
I will have lots of new paintings for sale just in time for Holiday gift giving. Please stop by for some music, wine, and art ~ couldn’t ask for a better combination for a Sunday afternoon!
xo,
Pamela
