RH Boston: Restoration Hardware Flagship Store

The RH (formerly Restoration Hardware) flagship store in Boston is a visual feast: 40,000 sq. feet of stunning Design Galleries with amazing room vignettes housed in club rooms. Come take a peek with me!
This neoclassical building is located in Boston’s Back Bay on the corner of iconic Newbury Street and Berkeley Street. The former tenants include LouisBoston and Bonwit Teller (am I dating myself?). The structure, originally built in 1863, began as the Museum of Natural History!
The structure is breathtaking and the two-year renovation included removing a bank of elevators, opening the center of the building and exposing mezzanines. The end result: the original architecture of the building was set free. According to Gary Friedman, now chairman emeritus of RH, “Our design point of view comes from the architectural perspective ~ it’s all about balance, symmetry and proportion, when we have the opportunity to harmonize with great architecture there’s no better way to present our brand.” They have definitely succeeded in the Boston showplace!
Ahhh the sparkle and romance of the RH chandeliers…
The basement level is dedicated to the RH Baby and Child collection. So enchanting…
Love these incredible dresses fashioned from vintage-inspired maps ~ gives a new meaning to the idea of “Paper Dolls”…
Sweet Dreams!
A Bathroom vignette, love the mirrors
Look what I found between the stairwells…
The RH Boston Flagship store is a must-see building with beautiful product, but don’t expect to come home with any merchandise. The sales staff will work with you on your orders including sheer draperies and bed linens but nothing is on site. You have to be willing to accept your items via a delivery service. I was disappointed I couldn’t walk out with the items my client and I had selected…especially where we purchased “soft” goods not furniture. Hopefully they will be worth the wait!
Finally, I couldn’t resist…loved this “pint sized” chair, perfect for children (and me??)
If you are in the Back Bay for some holiday shopping, stop in to RH Boston, warm up and take a look around ~ you won’t be disappointed!
xo,
Pamela
