A Poem & A Painting: Painting Eliza

This painting was done in my last Figures and Faces Class and it does not do justice to the beautiful and angelic model we had posing for us. That being said, I rather like this face and it takes me back my high school days when I performed in My Fair Lady. This painting reminds me of Eliza Doolittle and her lines:
I wanted to be a lady in flower shop
Stead of selling flowers at the corner of Tottenham Court Road…
But they said they wounldn’t take me lest I learned me how
To speak more genteel
Painting Eliza, 12″ x 12″, oil, $200 (scroll down to purchase)
