An Artful Weekend

This weekend was outstanding! Everywhere I went I saw beautiful art and it wasn’t only on canvas!
Friday night I attended the Moonlight and Miracles Ball, the largest fundraiser of the year for the Cancer Care Unit at the South Shore Hospital.
The ballroom was crowded with the most dolled up and breathtakingly chic women and city-handsome men. It is such a luxury to take the time to dress and coif your hair these days and the results were very much worth the effort! The ladies looked artfully presented~ from the top of their heads to the tips of their pointed 4” heels.
The guests weren’t the only ones dressed to impress. Just look at the silver eyelash fabric on the tables ~ it glittered all night against the vibrant orange of the Fall flowers.
Even the cookies were specially coordinated!
All of the paintings in the auction (including the one I donated) went to good homes. I thank my hosts Jen and Dennis Kelly for another wonderful evening of dinner, dancing and great company!
The next event was the Hingham Arts Walk on Sunday. The weather was simply perfect! The cerulean blue sky, the dappled yellow and cad orange leaves crunching under foot and a soft breeze was the backdrop for a perfect New England day to view art, munch on a bit of cheese and sip a little wine.
Sorcha, a local boutique overflowing with treasures, hosted me and my artwork. Sarah and Kristy were so much fun to be with! Here is my display, I loved the drawer, it was perfect for some unframed pieces:
My friends Christopher and Donna have come every year:
Tricia came back to purchase a painting that even matched her ensemble:
So happy when my Emily and Pally stopped by…
Emily has seen me all 4 years I have participated in the Arts Walk but this was my son’s first time. I was thrilled he attended!
A shout out to my friends who stopped by…you are most kind and loyal ~ love you all!
Topping it all off, yesterday was my Plein Air Painting Class. The class is such a stretch for me, I am a hothouse flower, I really prefer to paint in my comfortable temperature controlled studio with a cup of tea close at hand and my Broadway music! However I love my teacher, Diane Panerelli Miller and she is such a cheerleader that I am learning and having a great time.
But ….a cemetery, today…..really?? It’s not Halloween yet, is it?
Here is my painting and a few other shots that I am going to title “Hardscapes”.
I really adore statues and I think this one is lovely
Peace be With you…
Hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!
xo,
Pamela
