Art Opening: Lisa Daria Kennedy

Last week I attended an Art Opening for my friend, the very talented Lisa Daria Kennedy at the South Shore Conservatory in Hingham…
This space is perfect for Lisa’s art. It is intimate and the stark white walls are the perfect back drop for her colorful daily paintings. Lisa has the entire second floor for her art work and she dominates with her “petites” ~ 6×6 canvases.
As you turn the corner in the gallery space, you are in for a treat with some larger paintings in more subdued colors that have never been shown before.
Just in case you are not familiar with Lisa, she has been committed to creating a daily painting since 2009. She is presently on #1406 (and counting). She uses acrylic paint on 4”x 4” or 6”x6” panels as a rule.
“The small, intimate paintings of everyday subjects reflect an optimism that outlasts the fleeting light and fragile objects. Her work seeks to give a voice to the fiber of everyday.”
Lisa has a talent for blogging and a unique way of naming her paintings as well. Her writing voice is typically peppered with a dry humor ~ which I love.
Most readers of her blog know her assistant Brie intimately and adore her…I am not going to tell you too much more about her, you simply must visit her blog…
Lisa has many fans and among her most loyal are her parents…
This exhibit is up until June, please be sure to stop by… and be sure to visit Lisa’s blog at lisadaria.blogspot.com!
