Designhounds KBIS 2019 Report: Thermador & Caesarstone

Welcome to the first of my blog posts reporting all the latest and greatest from KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) 2019 in Las Vegas! I was so fortunate to attend with the Modenus Designhounds group, on a trip provided by our generous sponsors. Today I am featuring our sponsors Thermador and Caesarstone.
Thermador
There was real buzz at KBIS this year regarding connectivity all over your home. Thermador, a leader in cutting edge appliances, was right on top of this trend with their new Home Connect program. According to Thermador, Home Connect “is your portal to more exceptional culinary experiences” and gives consumers access to exclusive tips, recipes, and remote controls—all through your mobile device.
With the Home Connect app you can control your home appliances while you are away and when you are home you can pair this technology with Nest or Alexa! If you think this sounds very “Jetson-esque”, I agree with you!
The Thermador Connected Experience can include starting your coffee while still in bed, dimming hood lighting to set the mood, unique color settings for your dishwasher (maybe this means I could have pink? Be still my heart!) as well as controlling your oven temperatures from near and far. Now all I’d need is help with what to cook 😉 No worries, with Home Connect you have access to recipes as well.
Whether we are ready or not for this remote ability it is coming and will hopefully make our busy lives easier.
Thermador also introduced a Culinary Experience via all-new products across two collections: Masterpiece® and Professional. As always, all of the Thermador products integrate seamlessly into any kitchen design.
The Masterpiece collection is stunning with metallic gray glass and sleek handles of quality stainless steel for a modern look.
Look at the rotisserie!
The Professional collection was created for the adventurous chef and features bold handles and rotating knobs. I love their option for a side opening oven. Sometimes I find that an oven door that opens down is hard to reach over, whereas the ergonomically and beautifully designed side opening door allows for better access and reach into oven cavity ~ especially for chefs who might not be considered tall!
Of course Thermador is still the frontrunner when it comes to Steam Ovens.
The wine column still takes my breath away. There are three different temperatures to keep various wines at the perfect chill and ready to serve. They also have a “Presenter Shelf” that comes forward to show your most precious wines to family and guests. I think every home should have one or maybe even two of these columns!
Finally, I must mention (again, if you follow me on Instagram lol), that the Thermador booth is where my Design crush, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, gave a fabulous presentation ~ love him!
Ceasarstone
Caesarstone, manufacturer of premium quartz surfaces, was a sponsor of this year’s Designhounds KBIS, and also one of the sponsors of the the 8,000 sq. ft+ New American Home in Henderson, Nevada. Caesarstone surfaces were featured throughout the home and it was magnificent!
During one of our evenings at KBIS the Designhounds group ventured to TNAH for a unique product presentation and party. The presentation of Caesarstone‘s new collection, Objects of Intrigue, was the most creative product introductions I have ever experienced.
Upon entering the house, I noted a fireplace with a unique sculpture on the hearth…
I rather liked the idea that the hearth was used this way. I walked right by as I was beckoned by the view of Las Vegas in the distance~ over an infinity pool.
During the formal presentation the latest Caesarstone collection was introduced by live models painted like the new quartz finishes. They came out and stood in front of their respective new surface. It was breathtaking and amazing and dramatic all at once.
As I entered the Living area, I soon realized that the “sculpture” I admired on the way in was indeed a model painted to blend into her backdrop!
Here are a few peeks at the new Caesarstone finishes…
Excava features rich auburns and chestnuts inspired by the patinas of casting and oxidizing metals. This is the first time these shades are being shown in quartz.
Topus Concrete features shades of buttermilk on a cream base.
Airy Concrete is a calm grey base with white and dark grey veins, reminiscent of the interplay between water and air.
Caesarstone surfaces are 93% quartz with high practical and functional attributes. Caesarstone surfaces are nonporous, durable, mold and mildew resistant, as well as scratch, stain, and heat resistant as well. What a perfect surface to use throughout a home. I encourage you to take a peek at their Design Gallery for inspiration!
And of course it wouldn’t be a KBIS party without a few design celebrities, fun, and friends!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this KBIS recap featuring Thermador and Caesarstone and that perhaps you’ve even learned a little bit and been inspired. Stay tuned for more great products and another recap coming soon!
xo,
Pamela
