Cape Cod Golf Course Condo: The Family Room

I’d like to invite you to pull up a seat, nosh on a gummy lobster (or two) and take a peek at the Family Room of the Cape Cod Golf Course Condo project. In case you missed the other spaces I’ve shared so far, you can tour the Dining Room and the Bedrooms to catch up. Now, onto the Family Room!
Although this condo was built in the 1980s, the downstairs floor plan is fairly open, with the Family Room space flowing with the Dining Room and Kitchen. In addition to the openness, the space had some great features: a fireplace, high ceilings, great natural light, and a wall of sliding glass doors with a golf course view. However, the decor did not reflect my client’s vibrant personality, as evidenced by this ‘Before’ picture (taken from the 2nd story loft area):
Our goal was to create a comfortable, stylish space for relaxing, watching television, and gathering friends and family. Here is the transformed space…
The focal point of the room is a beautiful (and highly functional) curved sectional sofa from Kravet.
I love everything about it, from the animal print Kravet fabric to the sophisticated and elegant curved lines. It’s a unique and custom touch that truly elevates the interior design of the room. Of course the faux fur throw helps as well 🙂 .
A beautiful carpet from Colony Rug once again anchors and defines the space. I love the way the subtle pattern adds interest without being overwhelming.
My client found the ottoman and we recovered it in a custom Kravet vinyl. It is durable, functional, and perfect for the space.
I love how the curve of the ottoman echoes the curve of the sofa. Swoon..
Finishing touches to the Family Room included custom drapery in a Kravet fabric and hanging a piece of art from my client’s extensive collection over the fireplace (we relocated the television to the other side of the room).
I know my client and her family will enjoy many happy times in this beautiful space!
Stay tuned for the final space in this Cape Cod Golf Course Condo ~ the Office. Until then, I invite you to follow me on Instagram for updates between blog posts: my Interior Design account: @pamela_copeman_design and my art account: @pamelacopemanart.
What do you think of this Family Room? Do you have a favorite element? I’d love to hear what you think!
xo,
Pamela
