Today I’d like to share with you three paintings by a woman who is not only a supremely talented artist, but one of my oldest and dearest friends: Sandy Welch.

You may recognize Sandy’s work as I’ve shared it in this space before. I have several of her paintings in my home including a spectacular beach scene in my foyer. Either way, you are in for a treat!

For as long as I’ve known her, Sandy has been drawn to the beach. Her affinity for the water and sun truly show through in her beach paintings. I just love the striped umbrellas in this painting, don’t you?

I have to paint.
It’s vital to my life.
I paint wherever I am.
I paint from a youthful, fresh, feminine
and passionate perspective.
Summer is my mirror.
Fashion is my muse.
My palette is filled with the delicious colors of summer
And often (but not always)
The subjects dominating my work are reflections of
my love for the fashion world.
The mysterious power of a pair of high heeled shoes
Or the many faces and inner beauty of woman
fascinate me.
I’m excited by the beauty that surrounds me.
This is how I chose to create my life
and my art.
